A phd dissertation was discussed at the College of Law and Political Science: "Suspension of the legislative and executive branches in light of constitutional court rulings/A comparative study," by researcher Nora Sarmed Rashid, in Hammurabi Hall at the College of Law and Political Science.

The thesis, which was discussed in the presence of the Dean of the College of Law and Political Science, Assistant Professor Dr. Murad Saeb Mahmoud, aimed to explain the rulings and decisions issued by the Constitutional Court and their protection of citizens and institutions. It also highlighted the role of the Constitutional Court in the extent to which its decisions can disrupt unconstitutional actions by the two branches of government.
The thesis concluded that the Constitutional Court in Iraq is an essential part of the legal system, which aims to ensure the protection of the constitution, the principle of separation of powers, and the protection of fundamental rights and freedoms of individuals. It remains a cornerstone in preserving the protection and stability of the democratic system in Iraq.
