A doctoral thesis was discussed in the College of Law and Political Science: The authority of police personnel in achieving procedural justice between release and restriction, by researcher Luay Wahid Sharif, in Hammurabi Hall in the College of Law and Political Science.

The thesis, which was discussed in the presence of the Dean of the College of Law and Political Science, Assistant Professor Dr. Murad Saeb Mahmoud, aimed to clarify the idea of procedural justice as one of the goals that police officers aspire to, and to consider it an approach and behavior that governs the work and enforcement of the law, and to clarify the shortcomings that marred the procedural texts within the framework of Iraqi procedural legislation, with a statement of the position of some Arab legislations in this regard.
The thesis concluded that police officers are one of the basic pillars on which the state is built, and they are the guardians of public facilities and trustees of the public authority that the state has entrusted to them to organize the affairs of all people, their freedoms, their money and their honor.
